Best Brownies Ever
Brownies:
4 oz. unsweetened baking chocolate
1 cup butter
4 eggs
2 cups sugar
1 Tablespoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup flour
FROSTING:
4 oz. unsweetened baking chocolate
1 cup butter
2 eggs
1 Tablespoon vanilla
1 lb. pkg. powdered sugar
Heat oven to 350. Grease a 13"X9" pan.
Prepare brownies: Melt chocolate and butter in microwave. Stop microwave and stir often, because chocolate retains its shape when heated. Continue microwaving and stirring until chocolate is melted and smooth. Beat in eggs, sugar, vanilla, and salt until thoroughtly blended. Stir in flour, blending well. Spread evenly in bottom of greased baking pan. Bake 25-30 minutes. Do not overbake. Cool in pan. Meanwhile, prepare frosting.
Melt butter and chocolate in microwave until melted and smooth. Stir in eggs, vanilla, and powdered sugar while still hot. Beat until smooth.
Spread frosting while it is slightly warm (but the brownies are cool). Wrap well, and refrigerate several hours or overnight. Cut into squares to serve. Store in refrigerator.
