My soul thirsts
for the Word of God
His promises
are life-giving water
in the desert
of my waywardness
and neglect.
Fill my soul
to overflowing, Oh Lord,
Let the sweetness
of your Words
fill the hunger
in my heart.
Let Your truth
bring new life
to me.
May I always
abide in You.

The darkness
inside my soul
has grown
as I've drifted
away from You.
Shine Your light
into the depths
of my soul, Oh Lord.
Cleanse me,
purify me,
make me wholly Yours.
Today,
tomorrow,
and all the days
of my life.

can I find peace.
Only in Your ways
can I find strength.
Only in Your promises
can I find rest.
Only in You, Lord,
can I find eternal life -
Life worth living,
filled with joy,
secure and anchored
in You.

Mercy
for the lost.
Grace
for the needy.
Love
for the one
feeling lonely
and rejected.
His arms
reaching out.
His hands
extended.
His love
enfolds and shelters.
Rest
in His mercy.
Trust
in His grace.
Believe
in His love.
Let His arms
wrap around you,
His hands
hold you close
His love
be your refuge.

As I once again
find myself in a mess
of my own making
I have no place
to turn
but to You
and Your promises.
Your promise of forgiveness,
Your promise of peace,
Your promise of love,
Your promise of care
    and provision.
You know my needs, Lord;
I bring this one
before You,
Asking that You,
in Your goodness and mercy
supply this need
which is a result
of my poor choices
and lack of wisdom.
Help me
  to trust in You,
  to trust in Your promises,
  to believe in Your love
for me.

Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these; now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is and tomorrow is thrown into the ove, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

When your heart is troubled,
Be still.
When worries fill your mind,
Seek Me.
In Me you will find
all that you need
for all that you are.
I alone can fill
the empty corners
of your soul.
I alone can be
the lover of your heart.
I am,
I always will be,
your all.

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases,
His mercies never come to an end.
They are new every morning,
New every morning,
Great is Thy faithfulness, Oh Lord,
Great is Thy faithfulness!

When your heart is breaking,
When your hopes and dreams
wither and die,
where do you go?
Who holds you
as you cry,
mourning the loss?

"I, the Lord,
am the lover of your soul.
I delight in you,
I love the innermost
depths of your being.
I love all
that you are.
My heart breaks
as you mourn,
and yet I delight;
for I know
what lies ahead of you.
I know the gifts
I have yet to give,
the blessings
I have yet to bestow.
I know your heart,
your love for me,
your desire to do My will.
I see your faithfulness,
your trust,
and I will reward you.
Out of this sorrow,
joy will come."

Lord, I choose
  to believe You,
  to trust You,
  to cling to You.
You are my anchor
in the midst of my sorrow.
I give you my tears
as I once again
place my hopes and trust
in You.

Dreams end,
Hopes die,
People change,
and life goes on.
God is our beginning,
He brings hope that never dies,
He will never change,
and He always goes on.
People will hurt you,
Break their promises,
Change their minds.
God is your shelter,
He never lies,
and is the same
Yesterday...
  Today...
    Forever....
